
GRB Rays alum Max Wagner (Green Bay, Wis. / Preble High School) has been named the 2022 ACC Player of the Year. The Clemson sophomore third baseman has enjoyed a breakout season for the Tigers and also was named to the ACC First-Team.
Wagner leads the Clemson team in hitting with a .379 batting average and has 26 home runs on the season. The 26 home runs places him second in Tigers’ history for home runs in a season, leaving him one long ball shy of tying the all-time mark for homers in a season. To go along with his 26 home runs, Wagner has 15 doubles, 74 RBIs, 64 runs scored.
Wagner is tied for second nationally for home runs and ranks 11th in on-base percentage (.506), 4th in RBIs (74) and 2nd nationally in slugging percentage (.867).
On the season, Wagner has compiled 21 multi-hit games, eight games with three or more hits and five multi-homer games, highlighted by his go-ahead Grand Slam against Florida State.
