GRB Rays alum Alan Roden (Middleton, Wis. / Middleton HS) has been named the 2022 Big East Co-Player of the Year. The Creighton first baseman has built upon a freshman All-American campaign from a season ago.
Roden finished the regular-season with a .394 batting average and led the Big East with 24 doubles. Roden also slugged four homers while leading the Bluejays to a Big East tournament bid. The sophomore had 21 multi-hit games, including 10 games with three hits or more. Again in 2022, Roden was a tough out at the plate, striking out only seven times in 180 at-bats, goo for top-10 in the nation.
A year ago, Roden garnered freshman All-American honors after hitting .378 with nine homers. Roden is slated to go high in this year’s MLB Draft.
