Week 9 of the College Baseball season has nearly everyone in the country in the heart of conference play. Here are some highlights from the past week in college baseball from former Rays players.
Gabe Roessler paced all Rays alums after his career weekend as Missouri State swept Delaware. The senior went 9-for-15 with a home run, two doubles and nine RBI. Roessler is now hitting .340 on the season with five home runs.
Madison College won their eighth straight game over the weekend, lead by numerous former Rays. Eason Hurd lead the way, homering four times and driving in nine runs. For the year, Hurd has six homer runs and is hitting .357. Noah Marschke went seven innings of two-hit ball, allowing no earned runs with nine strikeouts vs. Kankakee. Nate Novinska homered for the fourth time on the year, while Braylen White and Quinn Falish each homered for the first time this season, respectively.
Max Glusick hit his second homer of the season for Milwaukee in their weekend set vs. Oakland. Glusick drove in three. Tate Schmidt drove in five, while Dom Kibler went 5-for-10 with five RBI. On the bump, Riley Peterson went six innings, allowed three hits with three strikeouts.
Aaron Jungers made two appearances for Lindenwood, going 6.2 innings pitched scattering five hits, allowing a lone earned run with four strikeouts. On the season, Jungers has a 1.59 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 34 innings.
Jake Schaffner helped North Carolina to two wins over Clemson on the weekend. Schaffner homered and scored five runs for the Tar Heels.
Davis Hamilton pounded out five hits, including his fourth homer of the season for Minnesota.
Evan Gustafson hit two home runs for North Dakota State. Gustafson now has seven homers on the season.
Cal Fisher hit his second homer of the season for Florida State.
Dominik McVay had eight hits, two doubles a triple with four RBI for UW-Whitewater who moved to 13-0 in the WIAC.
