With the College Baseball regular-season wrapping up, Rays alums are helping propel their teams into the conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament. Here are some highlights from the past week in college baseball for former Rays players.
Jake Schaffner had seven hits over the weekend for North Carolina as they swept Pitt. Schaffner scored eight runs, drove in two and walked four times while extending his hitting streak to nine games. The Tar Heel senior is now batting .355 on the season.
Dominic Kibler had home runs in four-straight games for Milwaukee. Kibler, who drove in 10 over the weekend, has a seven game hitting streak and now has 10 home runs on the season for the Panthers. Teammate John Hadley hit his 7th homer of the season, while Tate Schmidt belted his first home run of the 2026 campaign.
Preston Yaucher belted his first career home run for Penn State against Washington. The Nittany Lion freshman had five hits on the weekend.
Madison College captured another sectional title in 2026. Noah Marschke went five innings of two-hit ball. Marschke struck out 10 batters. Nate Novinska hit his 8th homer of the season, while Quinn Falish, who had two homers in the sectional, now has six on the season.
Dominik McVay hit two home runs for UW-Whitewater in the championship game of the WIAC tournament, helping the Warhawks capture the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament.
Adam Urban threw 2.2 innings allowing a lone hit while striking out five at Michigan. Teammate Davis Hamilton hit his fifth homer of the season for the Gophers.
St. Mary’s freshman Dom Najacht earned All-MIAC tourney honors as he hit .445 with five RBIs and two stolen bases.
Aaron Jungers thre 3.2 innings for Lindenwood, striking out three. For the season, Jungers is 6-0 with a 2.27 ERA to go along with two saves.
Carter Wambach hit his third homer of the season for Drury in the GLVC league tourney.
