As we near the home-stretch of the College Baseball season, Rays alums continue to turn in breakout performances on the mound and at the plate. Here are some highlights from the past week in college baseball from former Rays players.
Rays alum Drake Baldwin continues his impressive start to his Rookie of the Year follow up. Baldwin leads the National League in games played, hits and RBIs while maintaining over a .300 average. Baldwin has seven home runs on the season.
Nate Novinska and Quinn Falish paced Madison College at the plate this past week. Novinska pounded out 14 hits, including three home runs while driving in 13 runs and scoring 12. For the year, Novinska is batting .377 with seven home runs. Falish also netted 14 hits, including two home runs, three doubles while driving in 16. Falish is batting .413 on the year. Casey Wambach belted his second homer of the season for the Wolf Pack.
Jake Schaffner went 7-for-13 for North Carolina in their weekend series at Duke. Schaffner scored six runs and drove in two to go along with five stolen bases. On the season, Schaffner is batting .341 for the ACC leading Tar Heels
Aaron Jungers picked up his fifth win of the season in relief for Lindenwood. Jungers went two innings of no-hit ball with two strikeouts. On the year, Jungers is 5-0 with two saves and a 2.40 ERA.
John Hadley had four hits, including his sixth homer of the season for Milwaukee. Hadley drove in five and is now batting .331 on the season.
Cole Selvig went six innings of three-hit ball with no runs allowed for Minnesota. Selvig struck out five Northwestern batters in the win. Caden Capomaccio threw two innings of no-hit ball with two strikeouts.
Gabe Roessler had five hits, while driving in three runs for Missouri State. For the year, Roessler is hitting .341.
Preston yaucher had four hits including two doubles for Penn State at Oregon.
Howie Rickett, who is batting .377 on the season for UNC-Wilmington, went 7-for-15 with three walks.
Dominik McVay had five hits, including three doubles with five runs for UW-Whitewater as the Warhawks clinched the WIAC regular-season title.
Jackson Hunley went 4-for-9 with four runs scored, two RBI and two doubles for Lewis in their weekend set at McKendree.
