Week 10 of the College Baseball season saw teams across the country enter the heart of the conference schedule. As we enter the home stretch of the season, Rays alums continue to produce for their clubs. Here are some highlights from the past week in College Baseball from former Rays players.
Madison College extended their winning streak to 12 games over the past week. Several Rays alums played key roles in the WolfPack’s streak. NATE NOVINSKA went 11-for-23 with six runs scored. Novinska belted two home runs and drove in 12. For the season, the freshman is hitting .359 with eight home runs. JALEN GELLINGS had 10 hits, including four doubles, and scored seven runs. For the year, Gellings is hitting .347.
NOAH MARSCHKE earned his third win of the season after going seven innings of six-hit ball with 10 strikeouts. Marschke is 3-0 with a 2.94 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 33.2 innings pitched. CARTER LUND went three innings of scoreless ball, while MARCELINO EDISON ALONSO hit his sixth homer of the season. HOWIE RICKETT had five hits, including his second homer of the year.
BRADEN SMITH went a complete game, tossing nine innings of six-hit ball while allowing a lone earned run for Maryville. Smith struck out seven and is now 6-1 with a 3.49 ERA on the season.
UW-Whitewater scored a four-game sweep of UW-Stevens Point over the weekend. ELIJAH FRANK hit his eight homer of the year as part of six hits and three RBI. DOMINIK McVAY had six hits, including his fourth homer of the season. BRADY MALKOW went 1.1 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. In the same series, JACKSON ADAMS hit his second homer of the season.
UW-LaCrosse had a 5-0 week, including a sweep of UW-Eau Claire. ANDREW RAJKOVICH had nine hits, including two home runs, two doubles and five walks. Rajkovoich is now hitting .347 and nine homers on the year. ANTHONY VIVIAN had seven hits and four RBI. CHAYCE OSTERHAUS went nine innings, scattered six hits while striking out eight.
JACKSON HUNLEY went 7-for-14 with four RBI and four runs scored in Lewis’ four-game sweep of Southwest Baptist.
JAKE BERG hit his second home run of the season for Lipscomb against Central Arkansas.
GABE ROESSLER went 6-for-13 with four runs, four RBI and three stolen bases for Milwaukee against UIC and Youngstown State. TATE SCHMIDT had five hits, including two doubles and four runs scored. JUSTIN HAUSSER had seven hits, including three doubles and a home run. Hausser drove in seven. On the mound, MATTHEW MUELLER went 7.1 innings across two appearances. Mueller scattered five hits while striking out 12.
DAVIS HAMILTON had six hits, including a home run for North Dakota State. Hamilton drove in three and also had two doubles. JAKE SCHAFFNER had six hits and four RBI and is now hitting .366 on the season.
ASHTON MICHEK improved to 6-2 after going five innings, allowing four hits and no earned runs with eight strikeouts for Augustana. Michek has a 3.26 ERA and has 58 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched.
CAL McGINNIS had three hits, including two doubles and four RBI for Evansville in their weekend set vs. Indiana State.
DOMINIC KIBLER and KOLTON SCHALLER both had two hits for Kent State. Schaller hit a homer and drove in two.
