Week 3 of the College Baseball season wrapped up with several career-firsts for former Rays players. It also saw more alums hit the diamond for the first time in the 2025 season.
Evansville senior CAL McGINNIS lead the Purple Aces in their weekend set at Missouri. McGinnis went 7-for-11 with a homer, five RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. For the season, McGinnis is hitting .359.
JOEY NERAT went 5-for-12 with his first home run of the season and also added a double and two RBIs for Dallas Baptist at Oral Roberts. Nerat is now hitting .389 on the season.
Maryville sophomore RHP BRADEN SMITH earned the win going six innings, allowing six hits and a lone earned run while striking out eight batters. Smith has a 2.31 ERA in two starts with 18 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched.
North Dakota State was led by a pair of formers Rays in their weekend series at Alabama. JAKE SCHAFFNER went 5-for-11 with two runs, an RBI and a walk, while DAVIS HAMILTON went 4-for-12 with four RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Schaffner is now hitting .436 on the season, while Hamilton is batting .323.
NOAH WECH made two appearances for Oklahoma State, going four innings pitched, not allowing an earned run while striking out five.
South Dakota State freshman KEAGEN JIRSCHELE played two ways over the weekend at Sacramento State. Jirschele had hits in all three games while also throwing 1.2 innings pitched with a strikeouts. Jirschele is hitting .304 on the season.
LIAM MORENO starred for St. Cloud State going 12-for-26 with a home run, four RBIs, a double and nine runs scored. Moreno is hitting .389 on the season.
QUINN BERGLIN went 2.1 innings on the mound for Rutgers with a strikeout. Berglin has yet to allow an earned run in seven innings pitched on the season.
SAM MOMMER has made two starts for 9-1 UW-Parkside going 13.1 innings, scattering nine hits with 13 strikeouts. Mommer has a 2.08 ERA on the season.
UW-Whitewater picked up right where they left off last season and so did ELIJAH FRANK. Frank went 6-for-14 with a home run, two doubles, four RBIs and six runs scored in the Warhawks 3-0 start.
ISAAC WENDLER hit a Grand Slam in his first collegiate at-bat for Aurora.
Florida State stayed hot moving to 11-0 on the season as CAL FISHER had four hits, three RBIs and three walks. Fisher is hitting .306 on the season.
LOGAN FRANK made his collegiate debut for Glenville State going 1.1 innings striking out two.
JAKE BERG has a five-game hitting streak for Lipscomb after going 7-for-21with four runs scored, five RBIs and two doubles.
JACKSON HUNLEY had four hits, two triples, three RBIs and three stolen bases for Lewis.
COLE SELVIG earned the no decision for Minnesota going five innings with an earned run and two strikeouts at Arizona State. On the year, Selvig has a 3.45 ERA in 15.2 innings pitched.
LOGAN DUNN collected his first collegiate hit for Missouri State. Dunn also added two stolen bases.
CALEB KARLL homered for the first time in his career for Ohio vs. Butler.
JACK SHEPSKI has started 3-for-6 with two RBIs, three runs scored, a walk and a stolen base for MSOE.
TATE SCHMIDT went 3-for-11 with a pair of RBIs for Milwaukee at UNLV.
