2022 Week 2 Alumni Roundup

Rays alums continued to hit the ball all over the yard in Week 2 of the College Baseball season. Here are some of the highlights from former Rays players. Be sure to head over the Rays Twitter account to vote for your Rays alumni Player of the Week!

Clemson sophomore MAX WAGNER turned in a career performance in the Tigers’ sweep over the weekend. Wagner went 7-for-10 with a three-run homer and two doubles. The Green Bay native collected six RBIs and is now hitting .500 on the young season.

DRAKE BALDWIN extended his hitting streak to seven games over the weekend. Baldwin smacked a homer at Oral Roberts mid-week while scoring twice and walking three times. The Missouri State backstop was 6-for-15 on the week and is now hitting .464 on the season.

CALVIN NOWAK found his way on base all last week going 7-for-16 with a triple and two runs scored, but walked 10 times for Lindenwood.

ALAN RODEN helped Creighton take two of three from Loyola Marymount over the weekend. The returning All-American went 3-for-9 with a homer, two double five runs scored and four RBIs. Roden is now hitting .409 on the year.

STEPHEN LUND is making the most of his return to the lineup after sustaining a leg injury late last season. The Gonzaga senior went 5-for-14 with three RBIs in the Zags’ sweep over Cal State Fullerton.

JOE HAUSER hit his first collegiate homer, a grand slam, for Minnesota on their Florida swing. Hauser finished the weekend 3-for-13 and is now hitting .316 on the year. GEORGE KLASSEN made his return tot he mound after an arm injury in 2021. Klassen made two appearances striking out three in 1.2 innings. Teammate WILL SEMB made two appearances on the mound striking out two in 1.2 innings. RANDON DAUMANN made two appearances against Indiana State.

JAKE BERG went 3-for-12 scoring two runs, drove in two and walked three times for Jacksonville. Berg started behind the dish in the Dolphins’ win over No. 10-ranked Florida State. On the season, Berg is hitting .316.

OWEN WASHBURN went 2-for-10 with a two-run double in Texas Tech’s sweep over Kent State. Washburn drove in three and is now hitting .333 on the season. Owen’s brother Jack made the start and went 3.0 innings with four strikeouts for Mississippi.

Xavier sophomore MATT DePREY went 1-for-3 in his lone start on the weekend. DePrey drove in one in the Musketeers loss to Oregon State.

COLTEN SCHILD hit his first collegiate homer for Saint Louis at Oral Roberts.

MASON KIRCHBERG went 3-for-5 for UW-Oshkosh’s first win of the season over Dominican.
