2022 Week 12 Alumni Roundup

We are entering the home stretch of the college baseball season and Rays alums keep producing at the plate and on the mound. Here are some highlights from Week 12. Be sure to head over the Rays Twitter account to vote for your Rays alumni Player of the Week!

JEFF HOLTZ was named Big East Player of the Week for his 9-for-10 performance over the weekend. Holtz hit two homers in Xavier’s weekend sweep and is now hitting .409 on the season.

MAX WAGNER it another homer, bringing his season total to 22 as the Clemson Tigers swept No. 21 Georgia Tech.

SAM BEERS went 7-for-16 with a doubleย  and a runs scored for Concordia, Wis.

DRAKE BALDWIN hit a homer in Missouris State’s upset on the road at No. 4-ranked Arkansas.

UW-La Crosse sophomore JACK OLVER went 9-for-26 with two homers, five RBIs and three runs scored. Olver finished the regular season leading the WIAC with a .442 batting average.

OTTO TREICHEL went 11-for-27 with three home runs, seven runs scored and two doubles for UW-Eau Claire. Treichel finished the season with seven homers and 32 RBIs while batting .325.

QUINN BERGLIN posted another complete game on the mound as Lawrence earned the MWC regular season title over the weekend. Berglin went 9 innings allowing an earned run with five strikeouts. For the season, Berglin threw 54.2 innings, allowing 34 hits while striking out 48. He fashioned a 1.32 ERA for the season.

ALAN RODEN hit a homer, a double and drove in three for Creighton in their weekend set at UCONN.

BRADY JURGELLA finished 8-for-32 with a homer, nine RBIs while teammate CAM DuPONT went 6-for-19 with five RBIs for Madison College.

AUSTIN WAGNER went 7 innings, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts for Univ. of Mary. Wagner now has 91 strikeouts in 64.2 innings while sporting a 3.06 ERA.

JACK HABECK went 5.1 innings allowing three hits and an earned run with eight strikeouts for St. Cloud State.

JACK WASHBURN returned to the mound throwing 2 innings in relief with two strikeouts for Mississippi.

RILEY FREY went five innings, allowing two earned runs with eight strikeouts for Milwaukee. Frey has 70 strikeouts in 64.1 innings.

Tulane senior KEATON KNUEPPEL went three innings over three appearances without allowing a hit while striking out one.

JAKE BERG went 5-for-18 with an RBI and two runs scored for Jacksonville.

CAL McGINNIS went 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI for Bradley, while teammate and fellow Rays alum CONNOR MANTHEY hit a triple vs. Indiana State.
